Well ...we're
here. Jen and I have officially moved into our first home in Granada
Hills, CA. We are very happy to be here and are still unpacking
boxes and setting up furniture every day. We're getting more and
more settled, however the homeowner projects are starting to pile
up. Dinners out, concerts and cocktail parties have kind of faded
to the allure of painting walls, trips to Home Depot and BBQ'ing
in the back yard.
I
will post a few pictures of the house under the previous owner's
regieme. On a recent trip to Disneyland, more specifically on
one fateful ride on the Matterhorn, I broke my digital camera,
so I'm sorry I can't post new pictures of the house. The camera's
in the shop, but when I get it back, I'll start snapping pics
so you all can see what we've done and how things are coming together.

As most of
you know Jen and I are in the final escrow stages of purchasing
our first house. We have gotten into a discussion about house
colors and are trying to decide what color to paint our new home.
Please take a few minutes to check
out our options and cast your vote.

A new year
and some new pictures for the web site!!! We just got back from
a fantastic trip with Thoreson's up to Lake Tahoe and have the
pictures to share with everyone. It was way too much to summarize
in a few words but above all else it was fun, beautiful and wonderful
to see the whole family.

Wow...what
a weekend. Jen and I lived it up this weekend hitting 3 concerts,
Christmas shopping, and going to to a birthday party. Sheesh...I'm
tired:).
First
was a Friday night concert of the Pasadena
Jazz Institute orchestra playing a swing arrangement of the
Nutcracker Suite. The night was called the Nutcracker Swings and
was spectacular. The Ellington/Strayhorn arrangement is something
that everyone should have the opportunity to hear...it was unique,
fun and really set the tone for the holidays.
Next
up was Saturday morning and Katalina's 1st birthday party (pics
here). My cousins, daughter turned 1year old on the 15th and
it was cause to celebrate. Rain starting falling a bit, but Mark
had helped by bringing his race canopy's and no one got too wet!
:) I heard roughly 75 people crammed in the the little house to
celebrate and we all had a great time.
Now
if you thought that was enough ...think again. After the party,
Jen and I went home to change and then we were back out to Stevie
Wonder's 11th annual House
Full of Toys charity concert (video).
Another solid night of music featuring Stevie, Al Jarreau, Brian
McKnight, Tyrese, Corrine Bailey Rae, Yolanda Adams, Eddie Levert
and India Arie. Hosted by Bill Bellamy and Chris Tucker...we sang,
danced and went home about 1am.
Finally,
Sunday arrived and we were moving a bit slower. We woke up a bit
slower in the morning, a bit more coffee was made, then it was
off tot he Mall for some Christmas shopping. Finishing much earlier
than we thought, we headed back to the house in enough time to
watch a movie, change, and we were off again to yet another concert.
This time something to truly get us in the Christmas spirit...Guns-n-Roses
(video)
with guests Sebastian Bach (Formerly of Skid Row) and Helmut (Total
Crap). It was rad and we didn't head home until about 2am.
Today
Jen and I are functioning remarkably well considering our weekend.
Jen headed off to work for her new shift 9:45-6:45 and I headed
to the office to edit. Things are good, but I know I stop moving
too long I'll probably fall asleep:) To all of our friends and
family that read this, Merry Christmas and though I hope I have
the chance to say this to you all...have a happy New Year too:)

need to get a few pictures of their new home in Castaic...I'll
work on that. We do have other good news that we just sold the
Mustang yesterday. We are again 2 people with only 2 cars:) I'll
upload more soon.

Life has been
treating both Jen and I very well. Jen is almost finished with
school and is excited for the summer. I'm wrapping up both of
my film projects and Strictly Background is premiering in Hollywood
next Tuesday. We're just about to head into a new season of concerts
at the Hollywood Bowl. The past few weeks has been full of heartache
because Grandpa Hahn past away. On the flip side, we've had an
opportunity to have both of my parents come down to visit and
we saw all of my extended family. Ironically Jen's mom came down
the very week for a long weekend in Santa Monica, California.
Mom and Jen went to the beach, the Santa Monica pier and drank
top shelf margherita's at the pier restaurant. Moi bien! As you
can tell . . .we've been hopping.
For
Jen, the biggest piece of news is next week will be her last day
of class at GCC and the 1st day of "official" work as
a teacher. Jen's last day of class at GCC (for this year) will
be on Monday, June 12. Then on Monday, June 19th she will then
start her duties as the newest full time teacher at the Disney
Children's Center. She's eagerly looking forward to next week
when papers, observations, group projects and lectures can all
be put behind her and she can simply focus on teaching her kids.
Not to mention other activities that she loves to do (work out
at the gym, weekend trips, boogie boarding) can also become a
part of her life again.
For
me, work at Barnyard is winding up. The last 3 months have been
feverish with the marketing requests continuing to pour in. Yet
the months pass by me with ease. Leslie and I are essentially
now focused on the process of tracking, processing and managing
the completion of the movie through post. Though I'm still very
busy, I've honestly been looking forward to this part of the picture
for quite some time. From this point on, I'll get to be a part
of the DI process, final mixes, film outs, answer prints...all
of the coolest parts of my job. And if you think it can't get
any better, the best news is that more and more of those duties
are keeping me in LA for days at a time. I feel like I drive a
bit less each week which is tremendously refreshing and fun:)
Most
of the people who read this already know that 2 weeks ago my Grandfather
Rev. Randy Hahn died. It was rather sudden, however not unexpected.
He had lived a long and happy life of 91 years here with us. I
miss him being so close, I miss his pestering phone calls and
his cantankerous nature. However, I do know that he is in a better
place, reunited with his wife and the rest of his family. At the
funeral I heard all of the great deeds that he achieved in his
lifetime and it is my sincere hope that I can achieve even half
of what that man accomplished. He made this world a much better
place than he found it. I love him, I miss him and I hope to make
him proud with my life and my family as he has made me proud to
be a part of his.
So
in closing, things are good here in Glendale. It's blazing hot...it
reached 100 today! Jen and I are looking forward to summer and
to beginning of her career at Disney. We're curious to see what
the future holds as Barnyard and Strictly Background
hit the theatres and most of all looking forward to seeing Carlos
Santana, James Brown, Blue Man Group, Sergio Mendes, Arturo Sandoval,
Tom Jones, Al Green and the Smothers Brothers at the Bowl.

So many things
have been happening I have not had a chance to update this section
